In theory, the game has a lot of good core ideas to be an awesome platformer, but you never really get to experience it properly due to various level design issues and just the polish with the movement. It all sounds great on paper, I love any game that allows me to make giant elevation changes with the platforming, but when you combine it with just constant camera issues or sticky walls, you just never really in full control of the game. The movement in this game is something that I felt was very promising but also ultimately underutilized, the game features wall running, hook mechanics, mid-air dashing, jump resets, and all kinds of weird platforming vibes. Not to say that developer didn’t work on it, if anything he was working on it a lot, just not fixing the actual problems that I had, instead adding more variety in terms of gameplay and rogue-lite mechanics, but for me that was never really the problem, I always felt like the game needed a cleaner level design with smooth platforming controls. Hack and slash throw enemies in GwenBlade with Treble Clef Sword and combine it with a powerful electric guitar that is shockingly good against bad thoughts! I have been following the game from the first day of early access, it had some really good ideas, but unfortunately, in its current state, the game is below what I would consider a “serviceable” experience, with many camera issues, random glitches, bad platforming artifacts, occasional soft locks, and just overall chaotic level design with poorly designed sections.
